New Delhi: Famous wedding filmmaker Vishal Punjabi has once again revealed how infidelity is a common thing in the dark underbelly of showbiz. In a recent conversation, he was asked if any of the weddings he has filmed have ended in divorce.
while talking to DJ Simz, Vishal Punjabi on Youtube He said, “This happened with a celebrity. Two months after the marriage, he was cheating on her. He was caught red-handed with this Bollywood actress in his makeup van on a Bollywood set. His wife came in and caught him naked, and said, ‘I don’t want your wedding film.'”
“I was calling the groom, but he wasn’t picking up the phone. I was calling the bride, she was saying, ‘Don’t talk to me, I don’t want a wedding film!’ So then, I called her manager, and he was like, ‘Brother, man, this is not happening, we don’t want the film’. I thought, ‘What do I do? Do I sell it to Netflix?… At that time, I had a contract that said I will give you 50% before I deliver the film and 50% after that. After this incident, I thought, ‘This is about heart, marriage, life and family, and I’m going to charge you 100% before I come.'”
The wedding photographer said he still has the footage. He joked, “In the film, the groom is crying and saying, ‘I love you, baby’. You know those are fake crocodile tears. He’s a big Bollywood actor. Can’t name him, but damn… that footage is worth lakhs to me. It’s a comedy film. I can make a lot of money by selling it.” Vishal then looked into the camera and said, “You know who you are!”
It is worth noting that Vishal has previously worked with Shah Rukh Khan for a decade at Red Chillies Entertainment. He has shot wedding moments of Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh to Siddharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.
