Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper Exclusive: Shweta Basu says she never got work because of Instagram reels or PR game

Mumbai: Shweta Basu was a surprise package in the latest web series Tribhuvan Mishra starring Manav Kaul. Shweta Basu plays the role of Shobha in the show who is a housewife, but later her character turns out to be the most unexpected. Shweta was amazing in the show, and she also thoroughly enjoyed being a part of it.

One Exclusive Interview with Zee NewsShweta Basu revealed that she thoroughly enjoyed working on the show. “I had a lot of fun reading the script, working on it and eventually watching it. As an actor, I love doing different things and I have done that over the years. So, whenever something new comes up it excites me. It was a lot of fun exploring Shobha, the way she explores herself is amazing, all credit goes to the entire team.”

When asked about her character being bold she said, “Art reflects society, of course, you have seen women in life who have been the pillar of the family. The definition of a woman is how she looks in society and that is the stereotype Shobha has broken. She is not the CEO of a company, she doesn’t speak English and she wears her sari and bindi but she is still bold, you can be feminine and bold, you don’t need to be masculine to be bold.”

Sharing her perspective on game changers, Shweta said that there are some projects that make actors successful overnight. “If the show is good then it’s fine. If people like the work, it’s good. I believe work gets you work, as an adult actor I have always believed this, I have got work because of past work and not because I have done any special PR, or made a reel on Instagram, I don’t get work based on that, I still give auditions, and I think that’s the reliable way to get work, every project is a game changer. For me, it’s like if it’s entertaining people then my job is done.”

The actress further added, “I don’t have any expectations that I will be an overnight success. I will have 5 million followers and I will ask for this or that. I don’t think I have ever thought about that, I am just celebrating Tribhuvan Mishra. I am very happy right now. I don’t mind surprises, but even surprises that come later are not surprising.” he concluded.
