Niall Horan breaks silence on Liam Payne’s death
“I am absolutely devastated by the passing of my amazing friend Liam,” Horan wrote on Instagram Friday morning. The 31-year-old expressed his grief over Payne’s untimely death after he fell from his hotel balcony in Argentina on Wednesday.
“It doesn’t feel real at all,” the This Town singer wrote. “Liam had an energy for life and a passion for his work that was infectious. He was the brightest in every room and always made everyone feel happy and safe,” he once said, recalling their time as members of the famous boyband One Direction.
Horan continued, “All the laughs and jokes we’ve had over the years, sometimes about the simplest of things, continue to come to mind through the sadness.” “We got to live out our wildest dreams together and I will forever cherish every moment we spent together. “The bond and friendship we had is something that doesn’t happen often in a lifetime,” he said.
The Black and White singer shared that he felt “fortunate” to be able to “see him recently”, in reference to the fact that it was by attending his concert that Payne was saved from his death. Had traveled to Argentina in earlier days. Horan continued, “Sadly, I didn’t know that after saying goodbye and hugging her that evening, I would be saying goodbye forever.”
“This is heartbreaking,” he concluded his emotional statement. My love and condolences go out to Geoff, Karen, Ruth, Nicola and of course their son Bear. Thanks for everything, Peno. Love you brother,” and signed with “Nyalar.”
