Nicole Kidman is opening up about shooting her new film Babygirl, for which she is receiving widespread praise. The actor plays a successful businesswoman who has an affair with a new intern, played by Harris Dickinson, in the film. What did Nicole say?

During the interview, Nicole spoke candidly about the challenges of playing a sexually charged character: “There was an enormous amount of sharing and trust and then there was disappointment. It’s like, ‘Don’t touch me’. Many times when we were shooting I would say, ‘I don’t want to orgasm anymore. Don’t come near me. I hate doing this. I don’t care that I’ll never be touched again in my life!’ I’m on it. It was so present for me all the time that it was almost like a burnout.”

In Babygirl, Nicole plays a successful businesswoman who has a comfortable personal life with her husband Antonio Banderas. Trouble arises when a new intern, Harris Dickinson, joins his company and he begins an affair with her.

Nicole received some of the best reviews of her career for her performance in the film when it premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September. The actor won the prestigious Volpi Cup, the Best Actress award, at the festival’s closing ceremony. Director Helena Reason accepted the award on Kidman’s behalf and shared a statement from her that she was unable to attend the ceremony due to the sudden death of her mother.

Babygirl will be released in US theaters on December 25 by A24.
