Selena Gomez returns to Wizards Beyond Waverly Place

At the premiere, Selena posed for photos with familiar faces, including her former Wizards of Waverly Place co-star David Henry and Janice Lynn Brown, a new talent joining the series cast. This sequel to the beloved original series sees Selena return as Alex Russo, who not only reprises her role as a guest star but also contributes behind the scenes as an executive producer. The first episode is scheduled to air on October 29 on Disney Channel.

In an exclusive preview of Wizards Beyond Waverly Place shared by People Magazine, Selena’s character Alex brings a surprise guest to the home of her brother, Justin Russo (played by David Henry).

Janice Lynn Brown’s character, Billie, arrives first and quips to Justin, “Look who’s using the front door like you guys.” Then Alex enters shouting, “Surprise!” Justin, looking at his sister in shock, replies, “Nothing weird!” Alex humorously commented, “Oh, I know! I look great, don’t I?”

Confused, Justine asks if Alex is there for her birthday, which she seems to have forgotten. Always looking to improve, she replies, “That’s why we’re here! We have come for your birthday.” Billy, sensing something is off, pulls Alex aside and asks if this is really the reason for their visit. Alex admits, “No, I brought you here so you could meet your new wizard teacher.” Billy hesitates, expressing his doubts about the need for a new master. “I don’t need a new teacher,” she says. “They never trust me anyway.”
