Jennifer Lopez boosted Hollywood celebrity support by throwing her support behind Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential bid in the final days before the November 5 election.
The American singer-actress stepped out for Harris’ North Las Vegas rally as part of the “When We Vote We Win” series, cheering on the audience before welcoming the Democratic presidential nominee. Like Beyoncé, Lopez decided not to showcase her pipes with the show-stopping performance. With iconic Mexican rock band Mana handling those entertaining responsibilities, the “Let’s Get Loud” songstress delivered an emotionally charged speech about why “Showing Us” was relevant for Harris.
Directly referencing the Kill Tony podcast host’s initial comments at the Trump rally, JLo said, “I promised myself I wouldn’t get emotional, but you know, we’re supposed to get emotional. We should be worried. We should be scared and angry. We should – our pain matters. We matter.” Reminding everyone of the importance of their vote, she first said of Trump, “At Madison Square Garden, he reminded us who he is and how he really feels.”
“Puerto Ricans were not the only ones angry that day. It was every Latino in this country, it was humanity, and anybody of decent character.” The “Marry Me” actress presented her passionate case by rebuking Trump and labeling him as someone who “consistently Has worked to divide us.”

Additionally, López proudly claimed her identity as an American woman, declaring herself the daughter of Guadalupe Rodríguez and David López, “proud daughter and son of Puerto Rico.” Before closing her speech and making way for Kamala Harris’ address, “The Mother” actress firmly established that she will be casting her vote for the Dems candidate for this November’s election.
“I’m Puerto Rican, and yes I was born here, and we’re American. I am a mother. I am a sister. I’m an actress, and I love Hollywood endings, and I love when the good guy, or in this case the good girl, wins. And with an understanding of our past and our confidence in our future, I will cast my vote for Kamala Harris for President of the United States,” Lopez announced.

Most of the singer’s 15-minute comments were devoted to comparing her background and origin story to that of the vice president. She added, “When I started out in TV and film, all I could get were maid or spunky Latina roles, but I knew I had so much more to offer.” “And I think there are a lot of people in this country who feel the same way, who know they’re capable of more, and we all want a chance to prove it. And elections are about electing leaders who support it, not those who stand in the way.”
JLo isn’t the only star power personality to cite Hinchcliffe’s comments while putting her faith in Kamala Harris. Several celebrities of Latin American descent, including Bad Bunny, Ricky Martin, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Rita Moreno, have since defended Puerto Rico, while others like Nicky Jam were inspired to abandon the Trump train.
Reversing Trump’s “enemy within” comment, Lopez firmly warned the crowd, “I’m a lover. I’m not a fighter. I’m not here to destroy or tear anybody down. I know that. That’s how it might feel, and I wouldn’t do it to our greatest enemy, or even when I think America faces its greatest adversary internally, ever. “Wouldn’t do that. But throughout Kamala Harris’s career, she has proven to us who she is.”
