
Famous folk singer Sharda Sinha, known for her captivating folk performances during Chhath festival, is seriously ill and is currently undergoing treatment at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to his family to inquire about his health and offered all necessary support for his ongoing treatment. About Sharda’s health
72-year-old Sharda has been battling multiple myeloma, a type of blood cancer, since 2018. His condition deteriorated on Monday, due to which he was put on ventilator.
According to an official statement from AIIMS, the singer is “hemodynamically stable but under constant observation.”
Her son, Anshuman Sinha has kept fans updated about his mother’s health by sharing updates through social media and media outlets.

Speaking to ANI, Anshuman confirmed that Prime Minister Modi had personally assured him of all necessary assistance for his mother’s treatment.
The deteriorating health of the folk singer has created widespread concern among her fans and well-wishers.

Known for her contribution to the traditional folk music of Bihar and her iconic Chhath song, Sharda is considered a cultural ambassador of the region.
Over the years, his voice has become synonymous with the Chhath festival, which is widely celebrated in Bihar and other parts of North India.
His illustrious career began in the 1970s and he achieved national recognition for his work in Bhojpuri, Maithili and Hindi folk music. His famous songs like Babool from Hum Aapke Hain Koun not only earned fame but also critical acclaim.
In 2018, she was awarded the prestigious Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian award, for her contribution to the arts. Cementing his legacy as one of the leading voices in regional cinema, he has also won a National Film Award.
