Christopher Nolan’s next offering follows the success of the multiple award-winning Oppenheimer, which also earned him his first Best Director Oscar.
Christopher Nolan is busy prepping the star cast for his next film, following the massive success of the blockbuster period drama Oppenheimer, which also earned the filmmaker his first Academy Award. A deadline The report states that after Matt Damon and Tom Holland, his girlfriend Zendaya and Anne Hathaway have also joined the star cast of Nolan’s next film. Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources say the setting is not present day. It’s also unclear whether the currently untitled film is set in the past or the future. Nolan wrote the screenplay and is directing the film, which will be distributed by Universal Pictures. The filmmaker is also backing the project with producing partner and wife Emma Thomas for his Syncopy banner. Universal Pictures has set the release date for the film as July 17, 2026.
Tom and Zendaya’s reunion
Real-life couple Tom Holland and Zendaya will reunite for Nolan’s next film. Their romance blossomed on the set of Jon Watts’ 2017 superhero film Spider-Man: Homecoming, in which Tom played the iconic role of Peter Parker and Zendaya was cast as his love interest MJ. He reprized his role for the sequels, Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), both also directed by John. They are also set to star together in the fourth installment of the franchise, which is now being co-produced by Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.
Anne Hathaway reunites with Nolan
Tom and Zendaya aren’t the only ones reuniting. While they will be working with Nolan for the first time, Anne Hathaway will be reuniting with the filmmaker after the 2012 superhero film The Dark Knight Rises, in which she played Catwoman opposite Christian Bale’s Batman, and the 2014 sci-fi film The Dark Knight Rises. The adventure film Interstellar, in which he starred alongside Matthew McConaughey.
Matt Damon will also be reuniting with Nolan after Interstellar and last year’s Oppenheimer. He starred alongside Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr. and Emily Blunt, Florence Pugh, Casey Affleck, Rami Malek, Brendan Fraser and Gary Oldman.
