The notice was issued by Maharashtra Cyber ​​to prevent exploitation of fans buying tickets from online platforms, an official said on Wednesday.

He said the number of complaints about problems in booking tickets for such high-profile concerts and events is increasing on online forums and social media.

He said many people reported unresponsive websites during critical booking periods, leading to black marketing of tickets at exorbitant prices, sometimes up to 10 times the original price.

Maharashtra Cyber ​​found that the measures taken by the platforms to avoid such situations are inadequate, the official said.

A PIL has also been filed in the Bombay High Court seeking guidelines to curb black marketing and ticket rigging at major events in the backdrop of alleged irregularities during the sale of online tickets for Coldplay’s much-awaited concert in Navi Mumbai in January 2025. Has been filed.

The PIL states that there are many irregularities and illegalities during the sale of tickets for major events like concerts, live shows etc.

It said such irregularities and illegalities were noticed in September when Coldplay concert tickets were made available on the BookMyShow platform.
