Hollywood actress Eva Longoria has revealed that she and her family have moved out of the United States. In a new interview, she called the United States dystopian and shared that she’s splitting time between Mexico and Spain. In an interview with the magazine marie claire For her November cover story, Eva shared an update, attributing the decision to the country’s “changing climate” following the COVID-19 pandemic and Donald Trump’s re-election as president.

“My entire adult life has been spent here. But even before (the pandemic), it was changing. The atmosphere was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s homelessness or taxes, it’s not that I want to hurt California – I feel like that chapter of my life is now complete,” she said.

The Desperate Housewives star said the election and outcome made her decision final. He shared that what is shocking is not that Donald Trump won, but that a “convicted criminal who spreads so much hatred” could hold the highest office.

Eva recalled the time when Donald Trump won for the first time in 2016. “I have never been sad in my life. It was like, ‘Does my vote really matter? Am I really making a difference?’ I was so immoral at the core of what I believed because I truly believed in my soul that the best man wins. And then that happened, and I said, ‘Oh, wait. The best man doesn’t win,” he said.

The actress admitted that she is “privileged” to be able to make the decision to walk away. She understands that most Americans are not so lucky and are stuck in a “dystopian country”. The actor shared that his “concern and sadness” is for him.

Where does she live now?

The actress now lives in Mexico and Spain with her husband, Jose Baston, and their son, 6-year-old Santiago. While she’s often in Europe and South America for work, Eva doesn’t spend much time in Los Angeles. Eva volunteered over the summer to mobilize voters for Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz.
