Coldplay starts second concert in Ahmedabad

Tickets for Coldplay’s fourth concert in India – on January 25, 2025 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Motera, Ahmedabad – went live on BookMyShow at noon on Saturday. However, queues again reached millions, much to fans’ dismay.

Around 12:30 p.m., a new notification on the booking page said, “Last few seats left for the show on January 25, 2025. A second show has been added for January 26, 2025, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Queues will start at 12:45pm today and tickets will go live at 1pm.

The same process was followed for the second concert, as the queues once again reached lakhs as soon as bookings for the January 26, 2025 concert began at 1 pm on Saturday. The second concert also sold out within minutes. Fans couldn’t help but take to X to show their frustration, with many saying, “I’m tired.”

In September, Coldplay announced two shows at the DY Patil Sports Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025. Upon popular demand the musical group added a third concert at the same venue on January 21. The Enforcement Directorate initiated a probe into the alleged illegal sale of tickets for the concerts of Coldplay and Diljit Dosanjh after the shows sold out within minutes on online ticketing platforms including Zomato Live. Many of them ended up on unauthorized platforms where they were being sold at exorbitant prices.

On popular demand a new show was added in Ahmedabad on January 25, 2025. According to a press release from the ticketing platform, the multiple Grammy-award winning band will perform for a potential audience of 100,000 fans, making it “the biggest stadium show of their careers.” The capacity of Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is 1.32 lakh. This would make Coldplay’s biggest concert to date on January 25 and 26 the following year.
