It all started when she appeared noticeably thinner during her appearance in Mexico, with social media users saying she “looked malnourished”. Ariana’s fans jumped to her defense. Some fans reminded people of actor Chadwick Boseman, who also faced body shaming for his drastic weight loss during his secret battle with cancer.

“You guys learned nothing from Chadwick Boseman,” one wrote, while another wrote, “People need to stop with this bullshit.”

“Not here for negative comments, but I hope he is in good health and everything is fine. They trashed Chadwick on this app and then turned around and expressed their condolences,” read one comment.

One user shared, “People were horrible to Chadwick and he was such an amazing person, and he doesn’t even deserve this, people should let other people breathe”, another shared, “Really bro, I hope whatever she does is dealing with it”.

️”Some people suffer in silence…you never know what they are going through,” wrote one user. Another user shared, “The same people tweeting this would be calling her names if she was a little overweight, you can’t make the internet happy.”

About recent outings

The 31-year-old actor and singer, who is on a press tour for the much-awaited Wicked, has made headlines for her ultra-slim figure. She walked the red carpet in a custom strapless gown at the concert’s debut in Mexico.

After the outing, social media was filled with comments about her weight loss. One user wrote, “Were they giving Ozempic shots on the set?” Another wrote: “She’s skin and bones.” “Ariana looks so skinny, bad,” one user shared.

When Ariana reacted to body shaming

While Ariana has yet to respond to the latest round of body shaming, she did discuss on TikTok last year how the scrutiny has affected her.

She urged people to stop commenting on others’ bodies, saying, “You’ve talked about it (her body) a lot over the last decade or more, so I’d like to join in this time too ” She revealed that her “healthy” body was far from what some fans believed.

“I know personally, for me, the body you are comparing my current body to was the most unhealthy version of my body. I was taking a lot of antidepressants, drinking alcohol, eating poorly, and was at the lowest point of my life when I looked like what you would consider healthy, but in reality, that was not my healthy self. Was. Healthy people may look different,” he said, reminding everyone that appearances can be deceiving.
