Mumbai: Days after actress Nayanthara accused Dhanush of demanding Rs 10 crore for copyright infringement related to her Netflix documentary, the actor’s legal team has issued a strong statement.

Dhanush’s lawyer has threatened to take legal action if the controversial content, which allegedly infringes his copyright of the film “Naanum Rowdy Dhaan”, is not removed within 24 hours. The statement read, “Advise your client to remove within 24 hours the material infringing my client’s copyright on the film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan by using it in your client’s documentary titled Nayanthara Beyond the Fairytale, lest Doing so will force my client to take appropriate action.” Legal action, including but not limited to, seeking damages of Rs. 10 crores against your client and Netflix India.”

The actor’s lawyer also refuted Nayanthara’s claim that the content in question was only behind-the-scenes footage captured on a personal phone.

The statement further said, “My client is the producer of the film and he knows where every penny he has spent for the production of the film. Your client has stated that my client has not appointed any person to shoot the behind-the-scenes footage and the said statement is baseless. Your client is provided with rigorous evidence of this.”
