Cowboy Carter to debut in NFL at Beyoncé Christmas Day show; all details inside

Beyonce is all set to perform Cowboy Carter in the NFL during halftime on Christmas. The game will take place between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans at NRG Stadium in the singer’s hometown of Texas. Their appearance at the halftime show will mark the first time they performed songs from the album since its release in March.

Beyoncé performs at NFL halftime show

Although details regarding her performance during halftime have not yet been fully revealed, a press release shared by Netflix on Sunday suggested that Beyoncé’s genre-bending album will “feature some special guests.” . As reported by Page Six, these collaborations include Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Shaboozie, and other artists.

The show will be co-produced by the singer’s company, Parkwood Entertainment, and Jesse Collins Entertainment. The game will be live-streamed by Netflix on Wednesday, December 25 at 4:30 pm ET. Late Sunday night, the recently Grammy-nominated singer took to Instagram to share a promotional video for her performance.

In the clip, Queen Bey stood atop a car covered in roses, with the horns of a Texas Longhorn mounted on top of its grill. The nameplate reads “BNCNTRY”, meaning “Bean Country”, a subtle response from the Single Ladies singer to her critics who criticized her for not being country enough to be included in the music genre.

In the video, he was wearing a cowboy hat and holding a football while standing in front of the microphone. The post was set to the album’s intro song, American Requiem which points out racism and other social issues present in the United States.

Beyoncé’s history with the NFL

It may be Beyoncé’s first time performing for Cowboy Carter in the NFL, but not her first time performing at NFL games. She performed hits such as Crazy in Love, Baby Boy, Love on Top and Hello at the 2013 Super Bowl XLVII halftime show in New Orleans. She reunited with her Destiny’s Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, to perform Bootylicious and Independent Woman, Pt. 1.

Beyoncé returned to the Super Bowl stage for halftime at Super Bowl 50 in 2016 and joined Coldplay and Bruno Mars for one of the most-watched halftime shows of all time.
