The London Metropolitan Police spent $1 million on Taylor Swift’s security when the singer performed there in August this year.
Taylor Swift’s The Era’s Tour concert in London was an event for fans but also a headache for the local police and administration, a new report claims. brand reported that the Metropolitan Police spent more than $1 million providing security for the singer and her concerts after receiving threats. $1 million spent on Taylor Swift’s security
Taylor Swift performed in the UK first in June and again in August as part of her The Eraz Tour. Marca reported that her security costs were $85,000 per night in June, but rose to $125,000 per night when she returned. The main reason for this was the increased concern for Taylor’s safety after a bomb was plotted at her concert in Vienna.
The report states that Swift’s team, led by her mother and manager, Andrea Swift, demanded a blue-light police escort with special outsiders.

The financial burden of all this was too great for the London Police, and what made matters worse was the threat of concert cancellation. The report quoted a source as saying, “Andrea was not afraid to play hardball. She negotiated directly with government officials and pressured the Met to make exceptions to its policies.” Eventually, the police department relented, noting that cancellation would have adversely affected the local economy and disappointed fans.
Some critics have now said that Taylor should consider reimbursing some of the money spent on his security by the London Metropolitan Police. Singer Harry Styles won over the same sentiment last year when he returned $70,000 of the $275,000 he spent on security for his concert at Wembley.
