Nayanthara’s documentary is titled Nayanthara: beyond the fairy tale It has been the talk of the town ever since its release on Netflix on November 18. The documentary gives viewers a glimpse of her relationship with her husband Vignesh Shivan. In addition to exclusive clips from their iconic wedding, the documentary also included personal interviews with the couple, in which they spoke candidly about their relationship.

Vignesh Shivan shared that he rarely gets angry at Nayanthara. Whenever there is any disagreement, he starts going by what his wife says. Nayanthara said that she is very expressive and when she is angry with Vignesh, she makes it clear. He further added, “No matter what happens, he will feed me the first bite before eating. He will eat only after I eat. Otherwise he will not eat. If we fight, my way of showing that I’m crazy is by not eating the first bite. “Sometimes disputes are resolved within an hour, sometimes it takes a day.”

Talking about Nayanthara’s love for food, Vignesh said, “She loves food and eats more than me. I eat three-four rotis and she will eat seven-eight. She looks like she’s on a diet but she eats a lot.

The documentary also shows the light-hearted dynamic of Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan. At one point, Nayanthara casually slaps Vignesh on the neck before laughing. When Vignesh questioned why he hit him, he claimed that a mosquito was behind him. To which Vignesh said, “This is his new technique to kill me! There are no mosquitoes here – this entire house is mosquito-proof. But she will still do it and blame it on someone.”

Nayanthara: beyond the fairy tale It ran into controversy when actor-producer Dhanush sued its makers for copyright infringement and sought damages of ₹10 crore. The issue arose due to the inclusion of a three-second BTS clip from Dhanush’s production film Nanum Rowdy Paddy In the trailer of the documentary. Responding to the legal notice, Nayanthara posted an open letter on her Instagram handle, calling the move the “lowest ever” for Dhanush. Read more about it here.
