Fans, family and friends bid a tearful farewell to Liam Payne at his funeral. On Wednesday (November 20), the singer and former One Direction member was buried at St. Mary’s Church in Buckinghamshire, England. His One Direction teammates Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan were also in attendance at the private service. Amidst the ongoing funeral proceedings, a previous tweet of young Liam resurfaced on the internet. It read, “If I die will you come to (my) funeral mother?” This post was uploaded to X (formerly Twitter) in 2010.

Saddened fans were quick to react to the emotional post.

One person shouted, “Why did you write that? It hurts.”

As if responding to Liam Payne, one person said, “Yes we will. And your loved ones were there. You also watched every process. I know in my soul you were there. I wish we could bring you back. We’re sorry.” Do it, Liam. But we still got the bear, now rest in peace, the world loves you!”

Here’s another poignant comment, “They came, rest in peace, enjoy heaven, you did good, you lived.”

One user said it felt “unreal…” to watch as his funeral took place today.

Some photos of former One Direction members at their funerals were removed.

Others who paid their last respects to Liam Payne included his girlfriend Kate Cassidy and his former partner. Girls Aloud Cnger cheryl. Liam and Cheryl have a 7-year-old son, Bear Grey. Liam’s pal James Corden, One Direction co-creator Simon Cowell and his fiancée Lauren Silverman were also there.

On October 16, Liam Payne died after falling three floors from a balcony at the Casasur Palermo hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31 years old. A press release issued by the National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office No. 14 on 7 November revealed that Liam’s toxicology results showed traces of “alcohol, cocaine and prescription antidepressants” in his body. Prosecutors however denied “self-harm”. “Any kind and/or physical intervention by a third party” was considered the cause of his death.

Liam Payne was born in Wolverhampton, England. he attracted attention x factor in 2008 and joined One Direction in 2010.
