Insider reveals church elders’ fears after Liam Payne’s funeral

“Church officials are bracing for an army of fans lining up to come to Liam’s final resting place,” a showbiz insider recently told RadarOnline. “There is sure to be a lot of interest in the first few weeks and there is concern that devotees will be tempted to take items left in Liam’s honour.”

Just days have passed since the funeral of the late 31-year-old British star, “There are talks of deploying 24-hour security guards at the site of the incident.” This investment in thorough security testing will reportedly last “at least for the first few weeks until interest subsides and things return to ‘normal’.”

The source added, “The last thing his heartbroken family needs is the possibility of grave robbers rearing their ugly heads.”

Photos from the funeral showed a floral display honoring Payne’s memory. Even the doors of the 12th-century church were decorated with red and orange leaves and white roses.

The “Teardrops” singer died on October 16 after unexpectedly falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Buenos Aires and suffering head injuries. In early November, Argentine prosecutors confirmed that Liam had consumed cocaine, alcohol, and a prescription antidepressant before his death. Around the same time, police arrested three people in connection with his demise. He has been accused of providing her with intoxicants.
