Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently commented about the expensive gifts she gave to her ex-husband Naga Chaitanya during their marriage. The actress who was being promoted Stronghold: Honey BunnySat down for a fun chat with co-star Varun Dhawan. During the conversation, Varun asked him, “How much money have you spent on something completely useless?” Without missing a beat, Samantha replied, “Expensive gifts from my ex.” Her response clearly surprised Varun, leading him to ask, “Who’s how much?” Laughing awkwardly, Samantha confessed, “quite a bit”, before asking Varun to “move on”.

As soon as the video dropped, internet users assumed that the actress took a dig at her ex-husband for spending a lot of money. A fan wrote, “Samantha gifted Naga an expensive bike when they got married around 2017. Now this is a waste of hard-earned money.” Another commented, “Is this a dig? This is definitely a dig.” One comment read, “Wow, what a response, so nice, he deserves it, Sam love you.”

ICYDK, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya were in a relationship for several years before getting married in October 2017. Their marriage lasted for almost four years before they announced their separation in October 2021. The couple released a joint statement regarding their separation, and in 2023 Chaitanya confirmed that their divorce had been finalized.

Naga Chaitanya is now going to marry actress Shobhita Dhulipala next month. The couple, who met through Nagarjuna, got engaged in August this year and are set to get married on December 4 in Hyderabad. In an interview with ETimes, Chaitanya shared his excitement about the wedding. “There’s definitely a lot of excitement, butterflies… not too much (smiles). The butterflies are just because of the planning and the logistics involved – like getting the guest list together and managing all the details of the wedding,” she explains.

Naga Chaitanya also revealed that the wedding will take place at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad, a venue with deep emotional significance. She shared that the decision to hold the ceremony there was a conscious one by her family, as they wanted to get married in front of her grandfather’s statue to seek his blessings.
