Mumbai: Amid the lackluster response to his latest project, I Want to Talk, at the box office, Amitabh Bachchan has once again shown his unwavering support towards his son Abhishek Bachchan. The veteran actor took to social media to appreciate Abhishek’s performance.
Amitabh’s encouraging words for his son
In an emotional post on his blog, Amitabh wrote, “Some films invite you to be entertained… some films invite you to become the film. I want to talk..that’s all it does..it invites you to be the movie..! It gently picks you up from your seat in the theater and equally gently places you inside the screen on which it is being displayed.. and you watch its life swim by.. with no attempt to escape from it or Not likely…escapism..and..Abhishek..you are not Abhishek..you are the Arjun Sen of the film.”
He remembered his late father in the post and said, “Let them say what they say.. but this is what I say.. this is what I have to say for the film.. and I remember the words of my revered Babuji: Achcha Did consider me good; The bad ones considered me bad only.. What they needed, did they recognize me only by that. It was their ‘need’ to consider me good or bad… whatever their ‘need’ was, how much they recognized me.
He further said, “Your greed for goodness in me may be good… your greed for expressing evil in me may be bad… but to think good or think bad was your ‘need’… and that was my identity. .It wasn’t the way I was..It was your need to think me bad..Or think me good..It was how much you could understand me..A ‘need’ was to think of me as good. There was a ‘need’ to make him feel bad… and whatever ‘need’ you wanted, how much you recognized me.
He added sarcasm at the end of the note
“The final blow of sarcasm!!! And reality.. You think someone is good because your need makes them think so for you.. You think bad about someone because your need makes them think so for you..YOU The necessity of good and bad was consciously decided, because how much importance you gave to my identity, this is the eternal truth of life!!!
This is not the first time that Amitabh has publicly supported Abhishek. Their strong bond and mutual respect remains a source of inspiration for many, proving that encouragement and resilience matter more than numbers.
