Washington: Timothy Chalmet has raised controversy after a “derogatory” joke about the late US President Jimmy Carter during his Saturday Night Live program.
According to Page Six, the 29 -year -old actor faced criticism after making incorrect remarks about the former US President during the workout sketch.
Chalmet, playing the role of a bunny instructor named Nathanial Latrin, led a workout session with artists Heidi Gardner and Michael Longfello.
Before shouting of the chamate, the sketch included a series of physical exercises while mimicking flight and swimming, “Jimmy Carter!” In the joke, which was humorous, the rest of the members of Chalmet and the class became lifeless hanging from the bungee cords.
According to Page Six, this moment immediately stopped the audience’s breath.
This joke, which seemed to throw light on Carter’s recent death, was not well accepted by the audience at home.
Many people resorted to social media to express their rejection. A critic posted, “It was ridiculous till the Jimmy Carter Line. Full out of the boundary. And yes, I understand humor and I like the show but it was very terrible and very soon … I was very terrible and very soon … Hopefully, his family would have done this. Don’t look at that. ”
It was ridiculous till the Jimmy Carter Line. Completely derogatory and out of dignity. And yes, I have a feeling of humor and I like this show very much, but it was very terrible and very soon. I don’t think there must have been a right time for this. I hope his family may not have seen this – JTV (@Jayv1974) 26 January 2025
Another said, “That sketch was really very funny till the Jimmy Carter Line.”
