Mumbai: Veteran playback singer Udit Narayan got into controversy after an old video after kissing a female fan. The revival clip showed Narayan performing at a concert, where a fan kissed him on the cheek while taking a selfie. In response, the 69 -year -old singer kissed her on the lips, causing widespread criticism on social media.

As the backlash grew, more old videos of the singer started again, shown in moments where they kissed actresses and singers like Karisma Kapoor, Shreya Ghoshal and Alka Yaganik. Their reactions in these clips -shock and visible discomfort have only intensified criticism against them.

The Internet is filled with negative reactions, in which many question the behavior of the singer and call it unfair. Some have accused them of crossing individual boundaries, while others are calling for more accountability than public figures.

Some social media comments include, a user commented, “Why does Udit Narayan feel that it’s fine?” Look at Karishma and Shreya’s face! “Another said,” Respect should always be mutual, no matter how famous you are. ” Another user said, “This is not ‘fan madness,” this is unacceptable behavior. ”

Addressing the dispute, Udit Narayan defended himself and said that the incident was being blown out of ratio. Talking to Hindustan Times, he said, “Fans can be very excited. We are not like this, we are civilized people. Some fans express their affection in this way. Why should we pay attention to this? ,

Narayan further explained that in the concert, fans often shake hands or kiss the artist as a way to show praise. He dismissed the controversy as a “fan madness” and suggested that these viral videos could be an agenda behind. He said, “People want controversy to surround my family’s image,” he said that he has always maintained a respectable public image and usually congratulates fans with folded hands and bows.

While Udit Narayan claims that the dispute is being exaggerated, the viral clip tells a different story in the reactions of Karisma Kapoor, Shreya Ghoshal and Alka Yagnik. With increasing interactions about personal boundaries and consent, even long acclaimed public figures are now being held accountable to their actions-from the past or present.
