Grammy Awards 2025: Chennai -born Chandrika Tandon won Grammy for the best new era album

Los Angeles: Chennai-born Indian-American businessman and composer Chandrika Tandon claimed the Grammy Award at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. According to the Hollywood reporter, 71 -year -old Tandon won the prestigious award in the best new era, environment or chanting album category for his album ‘Triveni’, a captivating mixture of ancient mantras and world music.

The honor was announced at the 67th Grammy Awards held at Crypto.com Arena at Los Angeles on Sunday. (Monday morning in India). Incidentally, Tandon is the elder sister of former PepsiCo CEO Indra Noyoi.

‘Triveni’ is a seven-track album that is created as a meditative journey for the audience, aimed at promoting “inner healing”.



The project is a collaboration with South African flotist Vautter Kelman and Japanese cellist Iru Matsumoto, which brings together their specific music styles.

The name of the album, “Triveni,” symbolizes the confluence of three rivers, which metaphorically represents the fusion of diverse traditions of artists.

Music producer George Varghese took Chandrika Tandon and the team on his Instagram handle to congratulate him for a big win.

Sharing a picture of a group from Arena, he wrote, “And adding the winner !!!!!,” Congratulations to the Dream Team to win the Grammy Award for the Best New Age album for his album ‘Triveni’. ,

This year marks Tandon’s second Grammy enrollment, with him for the first time for his album ‘Om Namo Narayan: Sol Call’.

He was nominated with some prominent names this year, which included producer Ricky Cage, Sitar player Anawasha Shankar and Indian origin British artist Radhika Vakeria.

In a social media post first, Chandrika wrote, “We will not be here except for the incredible support of a lot! There are magnificent fellow musicians that I met – many nominees and many – and I want you all How much did I enjoy with me and your artistry for the world.

The 67th annual Grammy Awards was hosted by Trever Noah and was streamful to Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The premiere ceremony, in which most of the awards were submitted, was available to the audience on YouTube through the official channel of the Recording Academy.

For the Indian audience, the Grammy event was specially available to stream on the Disney Plus Hotstar.
