Yuvasmat Naga Chaitanya and Siel Pallavi are set for the much awaited release of a love-action drama Thandel, inspired by real-life events. The film throws light on the 2018 incident when Indian fishermen were caught and imprisoned by Pakistani forces. While the story is self-compelled, which makes it even more special, it is a deep connection for the pre-East Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj, whose tireless efforts released these fishermen.

Sushma Swaraj, a true lawyer for Indians abroad, played an important role in achieving the return of 22 Indian fishermen detained in Pakistan. After his death, his daughter, Bansuri Swaraj carried forward his legacy and ensured those safe return to them.

The purpose of director Chandu Mondetti is to bring this remarkable real -life phenomenon on the silver screen via Thandel, emphasizing the unique contribution of Sushma Swaraj and her family.
