Mumbai: Amidst the ongoing controversy around India, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell on Tuesday recorded the statement of the influential social media man Apoorva Makhija, popularly known as The Ribel Kid.
Earlier this month, the controversy erupted after an FIR was filed against Makhija, YouTubers Ashish Chanchala, Ranveer Allabadia, Ad Raina, and others associated with India’s Got Latant Show. The FIR publicly based on allegations of promoting vulgarity during the Sulabh Youtube show and being sexually attached to sexually explicit discussions.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Ashish Chanchalani and Ranveer Alladia contacted the Maharashtra Cyber Cell to record their statements regarding the case.
The Maharashtra Cyber Police has allegedly called over 30 people to interrogate after registering an FIR against them. However, the police have not yet recorded the statement of comedian and Utubar Samay Raina, who hosted the show ‘India’s Got Latant’.
The show was being investigated after Ranveer Allahadia passed some aggressive comment on the show.
During an appearance on ‘India’s Got Latent Show’, Podcaster asked a contestant, “Will you see your parents …. or join once and stop it forever?” The video soon went viral on the internet, social media users slammed Allahabadia for their aggressive comments.
After the ruckus, Allahabadia released a public apology. In a video shared on his X account, he admitted that his comments were unfair and insensitive.
He admitted that the comment was not only unfair, but also a lack of humor. Allahbadia also said that comedy was not his fort, expressing regret over her lapse in the decision. “My comment was not just inappropriate, it was not even fun. Comedy is not my fort, I am just sorry to say,” said Allahbadia.
He also addressed concerns about his influence on young audiences, promising to use his platform more responsibly in future. “Family is the last thing I will ever humiliate,” he said.
