Actor-Rajna’s politician Ranjana Nachiyar resigned from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday, opposing the three-language policy. In his resignation letter, he said that the charge of many languages was a mistake.

Meanwhile, AIADMK Mp M. Thambidurai accused the ruling DMK government of exploiting the language issue as a political tool ahead of the election. Speaking to the media, he criticized the state’s stance on the new education policy (NEP), exposed the contradiction in allowing CBSE schools – where many languages are taught – opposing Hindi.

“The current state government allows several CBSE schools to operate. If the Chief Minister is serious about the Stalin language issue, he should insist on withdrawing all CBSE schools in Tamil Nadu. These schools follow the national education policy and include many languages including Hindi. Why can a minister not take a firm stand only when two languages are there? The government has allowed CBSE schools, and Hindi and NEP come with them, ”he said.

“DMK is playing politics with this issue. With elections, language debate is being used to manipulate public spirit. Instead of focusing on governance, facilities and welfare, the government is using it as an distraction, ”he said.

On Monday, DMK cadres staged a protest against the Trichichi Central Bus Stand in Tiruchirappalli against the Trichish language system in Tamil Nadu. Party members distributed pamphlets to raise awareness about opposition to policy.

DMK has expressed concern over opposing any attempt to protect the Tamil language and make Hindi more effective, arguing that such steps weaken Tamil culture and identity. Earlier, DMK spokesperson TKS Alangovan expressed serious concern over the impact of policy on education in Tamil Nadu, accusing the central government of using it, “to implement religious ideas on the education system.”
