Kannappa teaser launch: Akshay Kumar revealed that he turned down Lord Shiva's role twice

Mumbai: Actor Akshay Kumar, who plays Lord Shiva in the Pan-Indian Magnum Opus ‘Kannappa’ of director Mukesh Kumar Singh, presented actor Vishnu Maacchu primarily mainly, says that he played Lord Shiva twice with the mistrust of Vishnu Mansu.

While attending an event organized to showcase the much awaited teaser of an epic film ‘Kannappa’, a legendary warrior devotee of Lord Shiva for Akshay Kumar, Akshay Kumar, Akshar Kumar shared his excitement about stepping into the role of Lord Shiva.

He said, “First, I was not sure, and I turned down the offer twice. But Vishnu is unwavering confident that I was the right person to bring Lord Shiva to life on the big screen in Indian cinema, really assured me. The story is powerful, depth, and the film has become a scene. I am honored to be a part of this unbelievable journey.”

Akshay Kumar and Vishnu Manchu released the teaser for the much awaited Pan-India film. Teaser offers a glimpse in a historical story of devotion, sacrifice and grandeur.

Directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and M. The film produced by Mohan Babu aims to take the audience on a visual and emotional journey, which combines the traditional story with modern film production techniques.

Vishnu Manchu, who portrays the title character, Kannappa, expressed his personal relationship for the film. “This film is not just a project for me; This is a personal journey. I am currently visiting all geotoring across India. I have felt a deep, spiritual bond with the story of Kannappa. It is a story of unwavering belief and sacrifice that touches the soul. Director Mukesh Kumar Singh talked about his experience of working with veteran artists. “It was a wonderful experience to direct stalwarts like Akshay, Mohanlal and Prabhas. They are all extremely ally, bringing a lot of energy in their roles. Vishnu’s passion has been contagious for this film, and we are committed to ensure that this incredible story reaches people everywhere, ”he said.

With his breathtaking scenes and epics story, Kannappa promises to be one of the most anticipated films of 2025. The teaser, which has already attracted attention to the Cannes Film Festival, will be available to the public on 1 March. The film is scheduled to release in theaters worldwide on April 25, 2025.
