Three Indian classical dance forms deeds – Kathak, Odissi and Kuchipudi, Anadya Taal Taran, on the same stage. The festival is presented by a dance school established by Arpita Banerjee, Anadid Performing Arts. Evening will open with a production Shocking Odissi dancer Dr. Vandana Supriya Kasaravalli, followed by a repetition of a Kuchipudi dance, who is the daughter of Pretacka Kashi, experienced dancer Vyayjayanti Kashi.

The second half begins with a story repetition by Arpita and Anadya Pahana with ‘Saraswati Vandana’, choreographed by Arpita and Dr. Music by Puru Dadech, followed by a single performance by Arpita and later a dance made by Guru Geetanjali Lal, which was specially designed by Arpita.

Anadya was launched in 2019 with the passion to teach Dance by Arpita. “This is the first version of Taal Tarang,” the dancer says, who was trained under Bandana Sen (Kolkata), when she was five years old. Arpita won the state-level competition, West Bengal State Academy Competition in 1995 at the age of 11. Once she moved to Bengaluru in 2002, she trained under Murali Mohan and Nandini Mehta.

According to Arpita, the cause of ease is due to her passion to teach. “I started teaching Kathak before the formation of Anadya. Our Indian classical art forms are taught in the Guru-Shishya tradition, where knowledge is provided by a guru to their student. I follow the same motto when I teach my students. I want to provide my knowledge of dance to the next generation. ,

In Arpita, Kathak has Vishrad (BA), Alkar (MA) and Shikha Vishwad (B.Ed) degrees. He is a imperialist artist with ICCR, and is recognized by Doordarshan as a grade artist.

Most of his students are getting rich, saying Arpita, and some of them will perform in Taal Tarang. Arpita launched a children’s classical dance festival Anadya Navalwa to promote young dancers last year. “I dream of organizing more annual dance festivals.” Arpita was postponed to the second best dancer in the National Music and Dance Conference, Pune (2009) and was honored with the title of ‘Niritya Shiromani’ at the Cuttack Festival (2014).

Taal Tarang, is open to all, says Arpita. “We want more people to see classical dances and promote young artists.”

Taal Taranrang is 5.30 pm on February 28 at Seva Sadan, Malleshwaram. It is open to all.
