Elon Musca Slam Oscar 2025 variety standard: "mess up"

Los Angeles:

The Oscar 2025 ceremony held at the famous Dolby Theater site in Los Angeles has not gone down well with billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk.

Musk slammed the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on “Representation and Inclusion Standards”, arguing that enrollment in categories such as the best pictures and acting should be purely based on merit and not affected by variety quota.

The enrollment should be based only on merit, he said.

“This is a mess. It should be the best that is best, not the best with a starving!” Musk wrote on X.

The “representation and inclusion standards” of the academy introduced in 2020, is a set of guidelines, aimed at promoting justified representation in Hollywood, with rashes, ethnic, gender and disability groups to be eligible for Oscar at Academy Awards.

It essentially pushes for more diversity and offscreen.

According to the official guidelines of the Academy, one of the most prominent actors or one of the important supporters in a best-based film should have a racial racial or ethnic group. These groups include African American, Hispanic, indigenous, Middle Eastern, South Asian, East Asian and Pacific Islands.

Additionally, at least 30 percent of actors in secondary or minor roles, for artists, should come from at least two underputed groups, including women, LGBTQ community and people with cognitive or physical disability.

Meanwhile, the 97th Academy Awards held on Sunday night watched Anora, who is a dreamedi about a sex worker, who marries a loving son of a Russian elite, who wins with five wins.

Sean Baker, Mavric, behind Anora, was recognized for producing, direction, editing and writing the script of the film, which according to the variety became the first person to win four Oscars for the same film.

Adrian Body (The Brutilist) and Mickey Madison (Anora) took the top acting honor. A previous winner for the pianitist played the role of a luxurious, but distressed architect, while Madison won the trophy for his depiction of a foreign dancer under pressure to get a deletion from her rich husband.
