New Delhi: The makers of Andaman starring Sanjay Mishra have officially revealed their next exciting project: Arjun Bevakof. It takes a bold new approach to upcoming film funding, adopting an innovative “ticket-funded” model that is sure to turn the heads in the independent film production community.
Under this novel model, the spectators who buy tickets for any two films on the Open Theater platform will directly contribute to the financing of Arjun Bevakoff. The purpose of filmmakers is to create an associate production process, where viewers become an integral contributor in the production of the film.
Director Smita Singh explained the argument behind this strategy, saying, “Our first film, for Andaman, producing the audience was incredibly difficult. There was a lot of struggle to bring the film into life. The challenge lies in reaching people, especially without a famous face to attract them. Working with new actors as an independent filmmaker, the war is tireless and global. This is why we came with thoughts for Arjun Bevakofop. We want to build a community of 200,000 people who will act as a subtle producer for the film. Only Rs. 99, they will not only see two films on the open theater, but will also play a role in the financing of our next project, which will feature new people. ,
Writer and actor Anand Raj shared his views on the initiative, saying, “Big Star films have their own, but independent filmmakers lack that kind of community. We are changing it. We are bringing 200,000 people together who will support and invest in this journey. Arjun Bewacoff is ready to release on December 25 – no difference.”
He continued, “The film is a suspense thriller filled with twists and turns which is completely unpredictable.” Every character is unique, and when I cannot reveal too much, I can tell you this: the audience of the film will also be its producers. This is only the second time that something is happening in the history of Indian cinema, in which Shyam Benegal’s churning is the first. In 1976, 500,000 farmers from Gujarat contributed to 2 each to fund that film. We are running at their footsteps, which is operated by the cinema people. ,
Andaman, who is currently streaming on the Open Theater, earned praise for his captivating tale and powerful performances by Sanjay Mishra, Rajesh Telung and Anand Raj. Directed by Smita Singh and written by Anand Raj, it was constructed under the banner of 8 Pillars Motion Pictures – one production house behind Arjun Bevakof.
As filmmaker Arjun Bevakoff is ready for the release, he hopes that this fresh funding model will resonate with the audience, pave the way for a new era of independent cinema supported by people.
