Chennai: Actor-consenting Talapati Vijay expressed his condolences to the family of Tamil actor-comedian Robo Shankar after his unfortunate demise on Thursday at the age of 46.
The actor breathed his last at GEM Hospital in Chennai on Thursday.
,Robo Shankar was admitted to Gem Hospital, Perungudi, Chennai, in a severe condition for a complex abdominal position with a large -scale gastrointestinal bleed and multirgan dysfunction on 16 September 2025. Taking his X handle on Friday, actor Thalapathi Vijay expressed grief over the death of his friend Robo Shankar. He paid tribute to the actor as a “gentleman”, who created a unique place for himself from small screen to silver screen due to his “sense of humor”.
He wrote, “I am shocked and sad to hear the news of my friend Robo Shankar being passed. With a sense of his humor, he created a unique place from the small screen to the silver screen for himself. He was a gentleman who got mixed up with affection with everyone. I take my deep summarizing God for my friend.

As soon as the news came out, condolences have been expressed from the industry, in which stallwarts like Kamal Haasan pay an emotional tribute.
“Robo Shankar Robo is just a pseudonym. In my dictionary, you are a human. So, will you leave me and go? You will leave and leave? You have gone, your work is done. My work is incomplete. You leave for us tomorrow. So, yesterday, tomorrow,” Hasan wrote in an emotional tribute.

Actor Radika Sarathkumar also took her X handle and paid a tribute to Robo Shankar. He said, “Everyone is always happy with his humor and he works very hard to give his best. Such a great disadvantage. My prayers to strengthen family and friends.”

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also mourned the death of Robo Shankar.
“I was very sad to hear the news of the demise of actor Thiru Robo Shankar. Starting from the performance of the stage, he expanded his journey in television and cinema, entertained the people of Tamil Nadu. I expanded my heartfelt condolences and sympathy to dissolve in my bereaved family members and in the film.
Robo Shankar’s funeral is currently taking place at the actor’s residence in Chennai.

Apart from working in many films, Robo Shankar was also known for his TV show, such as ‘Kings of Comedy Juniors’, ‘Kanni Thewu’, ‘Sembaruthi’, and ‘Top Kuku Dupay Kuku Season 2’ showed with Dhanush Ki ‘Mari’ in his most famous film roles.
