Tips to Restore Your Inner Harmony When You Feel Broken Inside

Feeling “broken” or “hopeless” are powerful negative emotions that can affect your mental and physical health and drain your energy to get through the day. To live with more joy and purpose, it is necessary to first accept these negative emotions and then overcome them by building emotional and mental resilience.

It is essential to live a life filled with the well-being of our body, mind, spirit, community, and planet. Adopting healthy habits and wellness practices contributes greatly to restoring your inner harmony so that you can become the best version of yourself and live with greater health and happiness. Prakriti Poddar, a Seattle-based wellness expert and global head of mental health at RoundGlass Living App, shares here some simple habits and practices that can be incorporated into your daily routine:

focus on your breathing

If I could recommend only one habit for reducing stress, it would be breathing exercises. They are an important aspect of well-being, and we have developed several classes and curated content dedicated to breathing on the Living app. Certain breathing patterns act like a tranquilizer for the nervous system, stopping the stress response in its tracks. Try the 4-7-8 breathing technique when you’re struggling with negative emotions:

Breathe in for four seconds —> hold that breath for seven seconds —> exhale slowly while counting to eight —> repeat as many times as needed and feel the tension go away. Is.

Mindfulness and meditation

Practicing meditation and mindfulness makes your mind clear, calm, and sharp. Many studies have now established that regular meditation practice can reduce stress, reduce anxiety, help you sleep better as well as give you that much needed ‘me’ time.

Sleep

Getting good quality sleep helps reduce stress levels while promoting a sense of overall well-being. Try developing a consistent sleep routine that limits screens before bed and includes a short meditation, relaxing sleep music, or a sleep story.

eat healthy

I also cannot emphasize enough the importance of a healthy diet in maintaining good mental health. To boost mental health, include foods rich in brain-healthy fats and power-boosting nutrients like iron and calcium.

Prioritize self-care

Self-care is not a luxury but a foundational pillar that supports overall well-being. Take care of your mind and body by eating healthy, getting good sleep, exercising daily, taking regular breaks from work, pursuing your interests, and developing social connections.

practice gratitude

Recognizing and Evaluating Gifts [of life] Along with acknowledging your blessings, it promotes a strong sense of positivity and provides many health benefits such as stronger immune function. Openly embrace gratitude in your words, actions, and expressions.

It is equally important to recognize that true and lasting happiness and inner harmony are not achieved by external circumstances, but need to be developed from within. Only then will your external circumstances begin to reflect your internal well-being.
