SEVENTEEN, ILLIT, NEWGENS, STRAY KIDS AND MORE CLAIM TOP RANK ON BILLBOARD'S WORLD ALBUM CHART

Once again, K-pop albums stole the show by claiming the top ranking spot on Billboard last week, which ended May 11. The American music magazine updated its World Albums chart on Saturday, and industry-leading names continued to maintain top scoring. Feat.

Billboard World Album Chart: SEVENTEEN and ILLIT remain at 7th and 2nd respectively this week.

Billboard’s World Albums chart was dominated by several groups from HYBE Corporation’s multi-label system, including BigHit Music’s BTS, PLEDIS Entertainment’s SEVENTEEN, Source Music’s Le Seraphim, ADOR’s Newzines, and others. JYP Entertainment’s other acclaimed industry stars – Stray Kids and TWICE – also celebrated their week-long streak on the music charts.

Ranking of K-pop albums on the Billboard World Albums chart this week

HYBE label artists on the World Albums Chart

HYBE’s rookie girl group ILLIT’s debut mini-album, Super Real Me, climbed the ranks to peak at No. 2 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, an all-time high. Following its original Korean release and digital premiere in March, the Super Real Mez physical album was launched in the US on April 26, marking new milestones. After officially debuting earlier this year, the girl group also debuted on the Billboard 200 with their debut album.

Next, Tomorrow TXT’s latest album took the third rank, after ranking at number 2 during the previous week. Minisode 3: Yesterday also remained steady on the Billboard 200 for the fourth consecutive week.

How about Boynextdoor’s second mini-album? It debuted at number 3 on the chart last week. In its second consecutive week on the list, the boy group’s new mini-album ranked at number 4. Far behind, Le Séraphim’s 3rd mini-album remained stable at 5th rank. Spending its 11th week on the Billboard music chart.

Last week, Newzines’ second mini-album, Get-Up, completed its 40th week at number 9 on the chart. However, in week 41 it dropped back to number six.

Members of third-generation K-pop boy groups took the next positions on the chart. Seventeen released their latest best-of album compilation, 17 Is Right Here, on April 29, which debuted at number 7 on the World Albums chart this week.

HYBE giants BTS climbed one spot as their 2022 anthology album, Proof, claimed the 10th rank in its 99th week. On the other hand, BTS J-Hope’s special album, Hope on the Street Vol. 1, remained at No. 8 on the list for the fifth consecutive week. His bandmate Jimin’s solo debut album, Face, continued a 52-week streak and maintained its 14th rank from last week.

Finally, Enhypen’s fifth mini-album, Orange Blood, remained at number 13 during its 24-week span, the same as last week.

Non-HYBE Group to Win on Billboard Chart

Although slipping down a few ranks, JYP Entertainment labelmates TWICE and Stray Kids once again made it onto the Billboard charts. TWICE’s 13th mini-album, WITH U-TH, maintained a 10-week spell on the music charts, ranking 11th. Meanwhile, Stray Kids’ eighth Korean mini-album, Rock-Star, debuted at number 12, celebrating its 25th week.
