HYBE president Bang Si-hyuk has criticized Min Hee-jin in his first public statement since the agency’s feud with ADOR began. Bang Si-hyuk criticizes Min Hee-jin
The HYBE founder said, “I understand that some people see Min Hee-jin’s actions as highlighting the problems of the multilabel system. However, no matter how sophisticated the system or how thorough the contract, nothing can completely stop human malice. The actions of a malicious individual should not be allowed to cause damage to a system that may have been in place for a long time. I believe that it is the strength of our social system, which prevents individual malice and wrong actions from destroying social institutions and system.

Reportedly, he also stressed his determination to set fair rules and precedents for the entire K-pop industry. “I deeply regret that this incident has alarmed the public, especially when as an entertainment company we are supposed to provide happiness. I sincerely hope that this genuine sentiment will reach you and the court will take a wise decision to dismiss the injunction,” he said.
What does Bang Si-hyuk request of the court?
In the petition, Bang Si-hyuk requested the court to side with HYBE over the injunction previously filed by Min Hee-jin. It sought to prevent HYBE from exercising its voting rights at ADOR’s shareholders’ meeting scheduled for May 31. HYBE holds 80 percent stake in its subsidiary ADOR. The main agenda of the meeting is to remove the ADOR CEO from his executive post.
What steps will the court take next?
The Seoul Central District Court could not reach a decision on Friday. The court will ask both HYBE and ADOR to file additional evidence by next Friday (May 24). A decision on this will be taken before May 31.
