Over the past few years, there have been many reports about the future of Pirates of the Caribbean Franchise. Some reports talked about a reboot with an entirely new cast, while some wrote about the possibility of a female-centric film with Margot Robbie.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer said that both films are in the works. “It’s two different movies,” Bruckheimer said in an interview. Entertainment Weekly. He added, “We hope we get to make both of them and I think Disney agrees that they really want to make Margot as well.”

Jeff Nathanson is writing the script for the reboot, while Christina Hodson is writing the script for the Margot Robbie film.
