The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently conducted a global survey, revealing the most popular K-pop artists around the world. The extensive list includes both bands and solo artists, highlighting their popularity in various regions globally. The survey targeted residents aged 15 to 59 from 26 countries who have been exposed to K-culture for some time. And if you’re expecting popular groups like Singers Dynamite and Pink Venom to dominate the entire list, get ready for some surprises with new entries that may blow your mind.
Most Popular K-Pop Artists Worldwide
The official survey conducted to analyze the impact of the Hallyu wave covers 10 countries in the Asia Pacific region, including China, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, India, Vietnam, Kazakhstan and Australia. The five countries included are the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina. Seven countries are included in Europe, two in the Middle East and two in Africa. Report via Allkpop.

Most popular K-pop artists in China
The biggest shock in China’s list was to BTS, who did not find a place in the top 10 list. Meanwhile, IU, G-Dragon, EXO and Blackpink dominated. Legendary groups like Girls’ Generation, PSY and Big Bang made the list.
Most popular K-pop artists in Japan and Taiwan
BTS, Blackpink and TWICE remained the common choices. And while newbie LE SSERAFIM made a popular entry in Japan, Taiwan’s list leaned towards (G)I-DLE, Girls’ Generation, Rain, Super Junior, Tzuyu.
Most popular K-pop artists in India and America
India and the US find themselves on the same list due to surprisingly similar preferences despite the geographical differences between them. Major names like BTS, Blackpink, Jungkook, IU, PSY, G-Dragon and EXO reign supreme in both markets. Also, while India prefers solo artists like V and Jimin, the US has introduced newbie group Newseens to its already star-studded lineup.
