Reports state that they are working on developing a series based on the character of Marvel Comics’ masked crime fighter, the Blonde Phantom. And multiple Grammy Award-winning singer Taylor is in talks for the role.
If they seal the deal, it will be another acting job for Taylor, who is currently busy with her European leg of the Eraz Tour. She has previously starred in Valentine’s Day and Cats.
According to a report from Screentime, producers are developing a Blonde Phantom series, with Taylor being considered for the lead role. The Love Story hitmaker reportedly also met Kevin to discuss the role of a crime fighter and detective.
Fans react
While the news is yet to be confirmed, the development has received mixed reactions from his fans. Some are excited about his next venture, while some are questioning his acting skills.
“Can’t they please. Please I’m pleading this isn’t a thing,” one user wrote, with another adding, “Sydney Sweeney would have been a much better actress for this role.”
One user expressed, “Literally not a single person cares about this character”, while another social media user commented, “I don’t see this working”.
One user said, “1) Kevin Feige’s real downfall starts here 2) #TaylorSwift can’t act, 3) The Blonde Phantom himself isn’t a big and popular name compared to the other characters so a straight series without cameos in the movies won’t help, 4) #TaylorSwift can’t act.”
A few people came forward to support Taylor. “Oh wow, rumor has it she’ll be the Blonde Phantom on Disney+. While I’m sure she could kill it, that it’s such an obscure character on stream turns my needle. Being here, as a Swiftie I’ll wait and see, as an MCU fan I can empathize a little more with your situation,” one wrote.
Another wrote, “For me, @taylorswift13 has always been a real-life Barbie – but I would love to see her as the blonde sprite. Taylor can make any blonde girl role iconic – even more iconic.”
About Blonde Phantom
Created by Stan Lee and Sid Shores, the Blonde Phantom made her debut in All Select Comics #11 in 1946. It revolves around Louise Grant, who works as a detective’s secretary by day and as a crime-fighting superhero by night. She transforms into the Blonde Phantom to help her boss solve cases and save him.
The character was also featured in her own solo series. After her husband’s death, she joined forces with Blake Tower and Jennifer Walker aka She-Hulk. There are rumors that actor Scarlett Johansson is also involved in the project, but in a behind-the-scenes role.
