'Presumed Innocent' trailer: Jake Gyllenhaal is a prosecutor accused of murdering his mistress in this gripping drama

Trailer of presumed innocentThe upcoming eight-part limited series, starring Jake Gyllenhaal, was released today by Apple TV+. The series from multiple Emmy Award winners David E. Kelley and J.J. Abrams premiered on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes airing on Wednesday, June 12, followed by a new episode every Wednesday until July 24.

In the trailer, we see Gyllenhaal playing Chief Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich, a married man with three kids who is accused of murdering his co-worker Carolyn, with whom he was having a secret affair. Rusty nearly breaks himself repeating that he didn’t kill Carolyn, and though he admits he was obsessed with Carolyn – even stalking her – the evidence that points to him as the killer piles up.

“This gripping series explores the power and limits of passion, sex, politics, and love, as the accused struggles to keep his family and marriage together,” Apple TV+’s plot description says.

presumed innocent It is based on the New York Times bestselling novel of the same name written by Scott Turow. The all-star cast of the series includes Ruth Negga, Bill Camp, OT Fagbenle, Chase Infinity, Elizabeth Marvel, Nana Mensah, Renate Rinceway, Peter Sarsgaard, and Kingston Rumi Southwick.

Abrams and Rachel Rusch Rich are executive producers of Bad Robot. Kelley serves as showrunner and executive producer with Matthew Tinker through David E. Kelley Productions. Anne Sevitzky serves as executive producer and directed the first two episodes and episode eight, while Greg Yaitanes is executive producer and directed episodes three through seven.
