Actor Manoj Joshi, who is a part of this much-awaited film Our TwelveManoj Joshi has given his reaction on the controversy surrounding the Hindi film. Talking to ANI, Manoj Joshi said, “I am an artist, I have done this film, but some people have opposed it. This film was not made to target any religion….”

He said, “Today in our country there is a discussion about the respect of women. Women should not be insulted in any society. A woman is not an object or a thing, she should be respected, as has been happening in India.”
“Secondly, this movie talks about various topics like education, parenting, employment, women respect and empowerment and population. So, everyone should watch this movie with their family.”
The Bombay High Court has stayed the film’s release until June 14. The Karnataka government has banned the screening of the controversial film or its trailer on any platform for two weeks or until further orders, citing law and order concerns.

The government order came a day before its scheduled release on June 7, 2024. Several Muslim organisations had raised concerns over the “inflammatory” and “derogatory” portrayal of the community in the film.

The film attempts to highlight the issue of population growth. It stars Annu Kapoor, Manoj Joshi and Paritosh Tripathi in the lead roles. The film is jointly produced by Birendra Bhagat, Ravi S Gupta, Sanjay Nagpal and Shiv Balak Singh and directed by Kamal Chandra.
