Aamir Khan thought that Shah Ruk Khan and Salman Khan conspired to finish his career with Dangal

Aamir Khan’s 2016 film ‘Dangal’ remains one of the biggest success stories in Indian cinema. However, Aamir recently admitted that he was initially hesitant to take the film and even jokingly said that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan would have sent director Nitesh Tiwari to break their career.

Just during a conversation on film podcast, Aamir was asked about his process for selection of films. The 60 -year -old actor shared that he follows his tendency rather than industry trends or audience expectations.

Aamir does not chase Khan

“A lot of mainstream filmmakers analyze what viewers like and try to distribute accordingly. It is a logical approach, because after so much time, effort and money, there is always a risk of rejection. But as a creative person, I never thought that if a story really takes me, I would feel the audience,” AMIR said.

Sharing an entertaining anecdote about Dangal, Aamir recalled, “When Nitesh told the story, I told him that it was a great film, and I wanted to do it-but I was not immediately. I just looked like a million rupees with 9.67% body fat.”

He humorously said, “For a moment, I also wondered if Shah Rukh and Salman secretly sent me to celebrate this role and to end his career.” Aamir admitted that he initially asked the director to return after 10–15 years, and to his surprise, Nitesh agreed.

Aamir is now ready for his next film, ‘Sitare Zameen Paar’, which is being described as a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par. The film is expected to release at the end of this year, marking its return to the screen after three years.
