Actor Shine Tom Chacko appeared in front of Kochi City Police in Kerala at 10 am on Saturday (April 19, 2025). The police attended Ernakulam Town North Police Station after the police appeared to question an incident, in which he fled from a hotel in Kalur in Kochi City during a raid by the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) late Wednesday. The actor refused to talk to the big pose of the media gathered in front of the station.
Allegedly, the police have prepared a detailed questionnaire of 30-odd questions, including why he ran away after seeing the police team. The police have also learned their call record data in the previous month. The drug cell assistant commissioner is also present at the station. The inquiry is going on.
Since this incident, Mr. Chacko has been incompatible leaving his social media posts. Police served notice to him to appear at his residence in Kochi city.
CCTV footage
The police have also collected CCTV footage of Mr. Chacko running from the hotel in Kalur at the center of the city. Allegedly, he jumped on the asbestos sheet of the second floor and ran from his room on the third floor through the window. He allegedly fled through the swimming pool area, taking the stairs to the reception area, and Pilli, who rushed to a two-wheeler, fled to Pilli.
Allegedly, the Dansaf team arrived at the hotel on receiving a tip-off about a drug pedal. They came to know about the presence of Mr. Chacko in the hotel through the register and chose to knock on their door.
Incidentally, the actor was recently acquitted in a drug case by the Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court, in which the procedural laps was cited by the police during the drug seizure and was arrested in 2015.
Although there was no response initially, another person opened the door. However, the police failed to recover any narcotics from the room despite a detailed discovery.
Recently, actor Vinci Alashius filed a formal complaints with the internal grievance committee (ICC) of a film, in which he worked and the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) allegedly named Mr. Chacko. It came a few days later when he raised allegations of drug use and abuse by a male co-star on a film set.
