Actress, television presenter and anchor Aparna Vastare (57) died in Bengaluru on Thursday evening. According to the family, she was battling lung cancer.
She was a familiar voice for Bengaluru residents travelling by Namma Metro as a Kannada announcer since 2014.
Aparna made her film debut in 1984 with Puttanna Kanagal’s last film. Masanada HoovuA popular face on Kannada television, she had presented various programmes aired on DD Chandana in the 1990s and was the programme anchor for several public functions.
Aparna had acted in serials like Moodla Mane And Mukta on television channels, In 2013, she appeared as a contestant in the first season of the Kannada reality television show Bigg Boss. Since 2015, she has been appearing in comedy television shows, Majaa Talkies.
The late actress is survived by her husband Nagaraj Vastare, who was a Kannada writer and architect.
