Air India Express included its 100th aircraft, a Boeing 737-8, with the ‘Chitta’ art inspired by the traditional mural painting of Karnataka on its tail on 10 March.
The airline said that each aircraft in Air India Express Fleet is beautified by its unique ‘Tales of India’ tail art theme, and shows the country’s diverse artistic heritage.
The Lever includes indigenous textile motifs and traditional art forms, such as Azrakh, Bandrani, Banarasi, Ikat, Japa, Jamdani, Kalamkari, Kanjeevaram, Kolm and Warli.
The 100th aircraft has Chittara art from Karnataka, a complex folk art historically prevalent by the Devru community, which symbolizes prosperity and celebration. Created using natural colors on mud-coated surfaces, reflects a deep relationship for nature and heritage.
The aircraft was dispatched by Alok Singh, Managing Director of Air India Express at Kempagowda International Airport in Bengaluru, by his largest hub from where the airline operates more than 445 flights.
The aircraft will work on the Bengaluru -Hindon route.

The airline, as part of its rapid network expansion, added to Diabroor, Dimapur, Hindon, Jammu, Patna, and Port Blair (Shri Vijaya Puram), in addition to its growing network – Bangkok and Phuket – for its growing network.
