Ali Fazal on ‘Thug Jeevan’: ‘A Mani Ratnam film is not something you present every day’

Actor Ali Fazal has stated the reason for saying yes for “thug life” and said that a Mani Ratnam film “is nothing that is offered every day and certainly not with the prestigious star Kamal Haasan.”

Ali said, “There are some calls that you find in your life that you immediately know that you have to change the course of your journey – it was one of them.”

The actor said that he did not have to think for a second even before saying yes to the upcoming film.

“When you hear the name Mani Ratnam, you don’t just think of cinema – you think about heritage, you think about storytelling, which is deeply in the deep in transit, timeless and human emotions. I did not need to think for a moment before saying yes to the thug’s life,” he said.

“A Mani Ratnam film is not something that is presented to you every day, and is definitely not reputed as Kamal Haasan with someone. The fact is that the project brings talent together in Indian film industries in many languages, makes it even more special.”

He feels honored to be a part of the film.

Ali said, “This is the kind of ambitious, massive story that I always want to be part. I feel incredibly honored and excited to step into this universe.”
