Mumbai: As the much-loved film ‘Yuva’ celebrated its 20th anniversary on May 22, veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan on Thursday took to social media to write a nostalgic post in which he praised his son Abhishek Bachchan’s remarkable performance in the film. Remembered acting.

The milestone brought back a wave of nostalgia, with the senior Bachchan recalling the moment when Abhishek’s talent was recognised with an award. Amitabh shared a poignant photo of himself and Abhishek from the awards ceremony, where Abhishek won the Stardust Award for Actor of the Year – Male for his role in ‘Yuva’.

Along with the photo, Amitabh recalled the touching moment when Abhishek invited him on stage after receiving the award and presented the award to his father. The 81-year-old actor wrote, “When Abhishek won the award for Yuva… when his name was announced, he took me on stage and gave the award…”

He said in Hindi that whatever is his belongs to his son as well. He expressed his deep affection and pride towards Abhishek.

In his social media post, Amitabh Bachchan praised Abhishek’s acting and described it as the best. Using an affectionate nickname for Abhishek, he concluded, “Celebrating 20 years of its release today! What a film and what a performance bhaiyayu… you are the best.”

Abhishek Bachchan’s portrayal of an ambitious don Lallan Singh in Mani Ratnam’s 2004 film ‘Yuva’ is one of his most famous roles. The film also featured lead actors Ajay Devgan, Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukherjee.

Responding to a fan’s post on Instagram on 20 years of ‘Yuva’s’ journey, Abhishek also expressed his disbelief at the passage of time and acknowledged the important milestone. Meanwhile, Abhishek will be seen leading Shoojit Sircar’s film in the coming months. It will be released on 15th November.

The project was officially launched at Prime Video’s event in Mumbai in March this year. Although Abhishek and Shoojit did not reveal the title of the film, both assured that the project will bring a smile on the faces of the audience.

At the event, Shoojit said, “I make films about ordinary lives and try to make those ordinary characters extraordinary. This film will make you smile and feel a warm feeling.” The official synopsis of the project reads, “Sometimes life gives us a second chance,’ and for Arjun, who settled in the USA in pursuit of ‘The American Dream’, it is an opportunity to rediscover and embrace the precious bond he shares with his daughter.

It further reads, “Shoojit Sircar has crafted an intensely emotional journey with a gripping narrative through this story, about a father and daughter who go through life’s surprises. The film forces us to discover the true value of life’s fleeting moments, and teaches us to cherish each one.”

Johnny Lever, Ahilya Bamru and Jayant Kripalani are also part of the film. Abhishek has also returned to the famous ‘Housefull’ franchise. He will be seen sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh in the fifth part.
