Anurag Kashyap called the Hindi film industry ‘toxic’
A Hindu report quoted a source close to Anurag as saying that the ‘Gangs of Wasipur’ was likely to transfer to Bangalore. Kashyap told the Hindu in a conversation, “I want to stay away from the people of the film. The industry has become very toxic. Everyone is following unrealistic goals.
Earlier, in a conversation with Hollywood Reporter India, Anurag Kashyap had talked about being ‘hate’ and ‘disappointed’ with the Hindi film industry and was planning to move to the south for more ‘stimulating’ atmosphere. He said, “I jealous of them (South filmmakers). Because now, it is difficult for me to go out and experiment. Because now, it comes at a cost, which my producers think of profit. They like, ‘Where are my margins? I am losing money.’ I like, ‘You don’t want to make this film?’ But I can’t do it now. So the joy of filmmaking is sucked.
