Defense Ministry’s response to the allegations

On November 20, the Defense Ministry responded to a public complaint questioning whether V was given any special privileges such as unauthorized phones at an army training center due to his K-pop star status. The ministry revealed that the Love Me Again singer had used his phone between specified hours approved by the general policies of the training centre.

The Army Training Center allows trainees to use their phones for one hour on weekends and public holidays. Wei’s phone usage reportedly occurred during this authorized afternoon period, not in the early morning hours.

The statement further said, “There is no evidence that V was given special permission to use his phone outside of scheduled hours or that any such action was condoned. “Details regarding the specific time, method or content of the conversation cannot be disclosed due to the Personal Information Protection Act and the Communications Secrets Protection Act,” as reported by AllKpop.

The former ADOR CEO shared during the interview that Wei frequently contacted him after he joined the army. He also shared that V sent him a birthday wish which sparked controversy as online users pointed out that Min’s birthday falls on December 16 and V’s enrollment date was December 11.

While the ministry’s statement addressed the burning questions, speculations continue to circulate online.
