Cannes: The first look of Omung Kumar’s production debut film ‘Love in Vietnam’ was recently unveiled at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The India-Vietnam collaboration features Shantanu Maheshwari and Avneet Kaur along with popular Vietnamese actress Kha Ngan.

Avneet also shared the first look of the film with her fans on Instagram. She wrote, “Proud to launch the first look of ‘#LoveInVietnam’ at Cannes! This is the first India-Vietnam collaboration and I am extremely happy to share it with all of you.”


Rahat Shah Kazmi has directed ‘Love in Vietnam’, which is based on the bestseller Madonna in a Fur Coat. Present at the poster unveiling of ‘Love in Vietnam’ at Cannes were Shantanu Maheshwari, Avneet Kaur, Rahat Shah Kazmi, producer Captain Rahul Bali and co-producers Tariq Khan and Zeba Sajid. The film is supported by the Consulate General of India in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the Consulate General of Vietnam in Mumbai and Vietnam Airlines.

Meanwhile, recently Information and Broadcasting Ministry Secretary Sanjay Jaju organised the first-ever Bharat Parv, celebrating Indian cinema along with India’s rich culture, food and handicrafts at the French Riviera.

The event, organized by NFDC in collaboration with FICCI under the aegis of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, was a resounding success, with Cannes delegates completely immersed in the evening’s extraordinary performances and delightful array of fusion cuisine, a release said.

Over 250 delegates attended the evening, which showcased Indian culture, cuisine and cinema on a global platform. The event also witnessed the unveiling of the poster for the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and the save-the-date poster for the inaugural World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES).

Sanjay Jaju, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and Javed Ashraf, Ambassador of India to France inaugurated the India Pavilion on May 15. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by National Film and Video Foundation (South Africa) President Tholoana Rose Ncheke, Film Department Director Christian Jeune and filmmaker Richie Mehta, among others.

The India Pavilion at Cannes Film Festival 2024 is being organised by the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) in collaboration with the industry partner, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry.

Organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, every year at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, India’s participation is led by the National Film Development Corporation as the nodal agency and FICCI as the industry partner.

The pavilion reflects India’s continued commitment to showcase its rich cinematic heritage and foster international collaboration with the global film fraternity. There are several states/union territories representing India at the Cannes Film Market this year, including Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Goa and Maharashtra.
