BTS agency BigHit Music has released another statement regarding Suga’s drunk driving case. Speaking on Weverse on Wednesday, the agency apologised for giving “misinformation due to internal communication errors”. BigHit Music also apologised for using the term ‘electric kickboard’ when Suga was actually driving an electric scooter. The agency said that they did not intend to downplay the incident. BigHit Music apologized again
The statement read, “Hello. This is BigHit Music. We are making an additional statement regarding BTS member Suga. First of all, we deeply apologize once again for disappointing many people with this unpleasant incident. We also apologize for being hasty in making a statement without carefully investigating the various circumstances and therefore causing confusion.”
Agency gives clarification about Suga’s vehicle
It also said, “1) Regarding the use of the term ‘electric kickboard’ – we determined that the vehicle used by the artist was a kickboard with a seat attached, so we described it as an ‘electric kickboard.’ In the process of further investigation, we learned that the classification of a vehicle may vary depending on its capabilities and specifications, and we also learned that the scope of liability for an accident may also change.”
BigHit Music ‘had no intention to downplay the event’
The BTS agency further stated, “We had absolutely no intention to downplay the incident, as some are saying. We apologize once again for making a hasty statement without reviewing the incident more carefully. When the investigating authorities decide on the classification of the vehicle, we will take full responsibility in accordance with their decision.”

BigHit Music also added, “2) Regarding the imposition of fines and cancellations [Suga’s] License–On August 6, after the artist was breathalyzed by police at the scene, he was immediately sent home. Both our agency and the artist did not realize that there were still some steps to be taken in the investigation process, and we mistakenly thought the matter in question was closed. Given the seriousness of the matter, we apologize for providing incorrect information due to internal communication errors.”
“Above all, both the artist and our agency profusely apologize for the fact that he was unable to show an exemplary image during his military service and that he caused an unpleasant incident during his service period. We also sincerely apologize to fans who may have been disappointed. We will diligently cooperate with the police’s additional investigation in the future, and we will humbly accept the outcome of their investigation,” it concluded.

on Wednesday, As reported by SoompiSeoul Yongsan Police Station said they had charged Suga, aka Min Yoongi, with driving an electric scooter under the influence of alcohol. Later, both the agency and Suga released separate statements about the incident, describing the vehicle as an “electric kickboard”. Police later clarified that the vehicle Suga “drove under the influence of alcohol is classified as an electric scooter with a seat”.
Furthermore, previous statements from BigHit Music indicate that the case was closed with a fine and the revocation of his driver license. The police clarified that their investigation is still ongoing.
