Cassie Ventura has spoken out for the first time after a viral video appeared to show her ex Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs brutally assaulting her in a hotel hallway. In an Instagram statement, Ventura said, “It made me meet a person I never thought I would be.”
“Thank you for the outpouring of love and support from my family, friends, strangers, and people I haven’t even met yet,” Ventura, 37, wrote in a statement.
“The flow of love has created space for my younger self to settle down and feel safe, but this is only the beginning. Domestic violence is an issue. It has shaped me into someone I never thought I would become. After a lot of hard work, I am better today, but I will always be healing from my past.”
‘I extend my hand to those who are still living in fear’
The ‘Me & You’ singer further added, “Thank you to everyone who took the time to take this matter seriously. All I ask is that everyone opens their hearts to believe victims for the first time in such a situation.” It takes a lot of courage to tell the truth over which you were powerless.”
“I extend my hand to those who are still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don’t cut them off. No one should have to carry this burden alone. This healing journey is never-ending, but this support means everything to me. Thank you. Love always, Cassie,” she concluded.
Ventura and Diddy had an on-and-off relationship when she was 19 and Diddy was 37. Ventura was signed to the rapper’s label.
This gruesome video from 2016 shows Ventura running away from the Intercontinental Hotel in Los Angeles, with Diddy close behind him. The music legend caught hold of the singer before she could even get into the lift, grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the ground. Then he kicked her, dragged her by her sweatshirt and threw things at her. Ventura can be seen lying helplessly on the floor.
